It is a governmental institution which is competent for enforcing the right to equal treatment and equality and for protection against discrimination (In Austria the Equal Treatment Act for the private sector entered into force in 1979, the Ombuds were .<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-296 size-medium aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/danielajauk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/gba-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Dani with Ombud Bag \" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/danielajauk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/gba-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/danielajauk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/gba.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/>I was invited to speak on an expert panel with some fabulous colleagues to talk about challenges of \u201cdoing gender\u201d and gender performance. In my input I focused on the staggering amount of harassment and violence against trans folk as documented in recent reports from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetaskforce.org\/static_html\/downloads\/reports\/reports\/ntds_full.pdf\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">US<\/span><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/sites\/default\/files\/fra-2015-being-trans-eu-comparative-summary_en.pdf\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Europe<\/span><\/a>, as well as trans-movements all around the globe.
